Auto-Trace vs. Manual Redraw
Automatic “image trace” tools can produce a vector file in seconds, but on most logos the result is lumpy curves, thousands of anchor points, warped letters and extra colors. That file may technically be vector, yet it cuts badly on vinyl, stitches poorly on embroidery machines and looks rough when enlarged.
We use tracing only as a starting reference where it helps. The logo is then reconstructed by hand: shapes redrawn with clean Bézier curves, text rebuilt with the correct or closest-matching typeface, and colors set as exact values. If the source is very small or blurry, we’ll tell you upfront which details will need interpretation.

Questions We Hear
Yes. A JPEG can be rebuilt as a native Adobe Illustrator (.ai) file with editable shapes, text and colors. Simply opening a JPEG in Illustrator doesn’t make it vector; the image is still pixels inside the file. The shapes have to be recreated as paths.
Many printers, embroiderers and promotional-product companies still request EPS because almost every professional program can open it. SVG and vector PDF are good alternatives when a vendor accepts them. We include all three so you’re covered.
Because it’s a raster file with a fixed number of pixels. Stretching it spreads those pixels over a larger area, which softens edges. A vector version removes that limit.
